On 6 Feb 2012 (the 4th day of the "5D4N Best of Thresher & Whalesharks" trip), a 6.8 Richter scale earthquake hit the island of Negros, Philippines. 18 of us were at Moalboal, Cebu (16 divers + 2 children)... just 17km away from the epicenter, while 4 more divers were with the whalesharks in Oslob; on the other side of the island.
16 of us were about to board the boat for our 2nd dive when the earthquake started. Not long after we all were on board, a mini tsunami hit the shores of Moalboal. 10 made it to shore by jumping off the boat just in the nick of time before the 1st wave came crashing... while the other 6 were caught on the boat. Ifwan Ahmad has managed to capture the devastating event on video. All 22 of us survived the event... Alhamdulillah. It was an experience of a lifetime...and hopefully the first and the last!
Memang agak menakutkan tengok tsunami ni..tapi bila tengok dorang punya gambar-gambar diving siap dapat main ngan whaleshark, perrh..jelesnya!!..
Bila agaknya aku sempat mau blluuppp!!..blluuppp!!...blluuppp!!..??

Tsunami.....mmg menakutkan!
Nyawa aku hampir melayang bila dive kat tioman(kira-kira 6 bulan sebelum berlaku tsunami 2004)....DM maupun boatman memang pelik kejadian yang menimpa aku ketika itu(hanyut dibawa arus di bawah permukaann air. - akhirnya terjawab 6 bulan kemudian - TSUNAMI melanda!
